Women Wing General Meeting
The
purpose of the meeting had been to bring to the attention of the Moussadou
Diaspora the need to bring an end to division, an end to suspicion between
the women,
and build a strong
organization in our diversities and
visions for
a better
Moussadou
and its friends. Let us know that membership in this organization is not
base on birth right because majority of our members are from Ivory Coast,
Liberia, and Sierra Leone. Members
wives has equal right even
if not a descended of Moussadou.
Mr.
Kanneh
went on to say that,
women who knew the price of tension so
well, might often be better equipped to resolve or prevent it than men.
"When society collapses". he said, "women play a critical role in ensuring
that life goes on". When there is a tension,
women tend to build bridges rather than
walls. Women put the welfare of their children and their children's futures
before even themselves when considering the impact and implications of
tensions. And that is what we expect from you. We want you to put Moussadou
interest before
self interest.
He
said that in an age where change was the only constant, the strength of
women was as old as humanity itself. Through education and tradition, from
time to time, women had passed on the culture of peace. He said that in
Africa, it was usually the mother, aun,
and grandmother who instilled in the very young the basic human skills and
values that were essential for peaceful coexistence.
Today
,we ask all of you to please forget your
differences
and think about your similaritie, as well as
what brought us together. Remember that you are the back bone of this
organization, our success depends
on you. I believe that the appointment of Mrs. Makesa Kenneh and Mrs. Maou
Kromah as the Chairlady and Assistant -Chairlady respectively
in your last meeting was
good guesture. With all due all respect, although
we
appreciate what Sister Haja Kourouma has done in the past but
by not attending any meetings for the past
years
has shown
that she
is unable to perform her dulty as
Chairlady. According to our constitution assistant-chairlady
is suppose to take ove
in such a situation. Leadership
of any organization
at the community level involves a
huge sacrifice of time, energy and money.
I personally see those quality in these two
individuasl.We
should keep in mind that although Mrs.
Makesa Kenneh live about an hour away from Philadelphia, PA,
it
is very difficult for her to miss a Meeting
or Occasion and Mao Kromah has
also been playing a major role in organising the ladies.
we really appreciate their efforts.
Together we can Make A HAPPEN
I thank you
all.
